Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am exceptionally pleased to be able to address participants in the Invest in Russia Conference on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the USA.
These two hundred years of contact have permitted our two countries to get to know each other rather well. Nevertheless, there remain areas in which we are still too inadequately informed to be able to act as full fledged partners.
Precisely to be able to help American businessmen better understand today’s Russian economy I welcome the conduct of a US conference on investment in Russia.
It is my hope that the conference will create a broad and frank exchange of view on the most significant questions of international cooperation and once more permit us to demonstrate that Russia is a reliable and promising business partner.
Permit me to wish the Invest in Russia Conference a rewarding experience.
